Welcome to the SUGS Website!

Some bizarre twist of fate has lead you to our site. So let us answer a few of your possible questions...

Who?

We are the Southampton University Games Society, a club for people who play board games, tabletop battle games such as Warhammer and Blood Bowl, roleplaying games, card games (especially CCGs), basically any games.

What?

Yes, we said any games, but actually there are a few exceptions. Firstly, we can't play chess; the Chess Club have a monopoly on that. Also, while we do play traditional card games, if you're a fan of poker then you'll probably want to check out the separate Poker Society, who may cater for your interests better than we do. Finally, we don't do LARPing, as we're not insured for it. On the other hand, there are a few LARPers in the society, so we might be able to put you in contact with people who do it if that's your thing. Aside from those exceptions, though, if you can find someone else who's up for it, you can probably play it.

When?

Our official meetings are held every Wednesday from 2.00pm, carrying on essentially until everyone's had enough (usually some time between 6 and 8). Members also often organise to play games at other times, usually either through the forum, or in person at the Wednesday meetings. This is particularly popular amongst roleplayers, for whom the atmosphere in the cafe is not always suitable.

Where?

Meetings are held in the SUSU cafe, located in the SUSU building on Highfield campus.
(Building 42, in section A3 on the campus map, from which you can also find directions to Highfield Campus itself.) Once you get into the building, head down to the cafe on level 3. You can't miss us; we're the ones with all the cards, dice and board games.

Why?

Well, because it's fun, I suppose. Why not?
