What is Rocket League anyways?
Well, it’s a vehicular soccer video game developed and published by Psyonix. The game was first released for Microsoft Windows and PS4 in 2015 and later in 2016 for XBOX, macOS, Linux, and Nintendo Switch. Usually described as “soccer, but with rocket-powered cars“, Rocket League is one of the most fun games I personally have ever played. Let’s talk about our tournament.
We’re organizing a tournament with 1 versus 1 and 2 versus 2 brackets. Each bracket will have 16 players (16 teams for 2v2 bracket with 32 players total). Each match will be played on a randomly selected map with single elimination and 3 games between each player/team. In other words, if you lose, you’re out. Rewards for the winners of each bracket will be announced at the event, but you can expect some cool gaming peripherals and gear, as well as in-game cosmetic items.
You can sign up for the tournament at firstname.lastname@example.org. The only requirement is for you to bring your own controller. Please be sure to include your and your teammate’s gamer tags. We’re looking forward to seeing you there, and best of luck!
